01. Origin
From Regional Observation to Global Intelligence
Our journey began in the spring of 2018. At the time, the Mekong region was experiencing a surge in digital transformation, yet the available statistics often lagged behind the reality on the ground. We saw a disconnect between high-level global reporting and the granular movements of emerging markets.
Mekong Global Stats was founded to bridge that gap. We started as a small team of three econometricians and a data engineer, working out of a modest space in Hanoi. Our mission was simple: provide a "Stats Lab" environment where data could be cleaned, verified, and contextualized before it ever reached a client's desk.
By March 2026, we have scaled our operations to cover 14 key global industries, maintaining our commitment to static, curated research that offers a definitive snapshot of a shifting world.
